How to use your phone
Your phone starts clean, like a new device out of the box. Apps are not pre-installed, so the first thing to do is add the ones you need. There are two ways.
Getting started
1. Open the phone
In your dashboard, open the phone and wait for the screen to appear. A new phone can take about a minute to get ready. After that it opens in a few seconds.
2. Sign in to Google Play
Open Play Store on the phone and sign in with your Google account. This is required before you can install anything from the store. Use your own account, and complete any security prompt Google shows.
3. Install the official app
Search for the app in Play Store and tap Install, just like on your own phone. Then open it and sign in to your account in that app.
4. Or upload your own APK (virtual phones)
If an app is not in Play Store, or you need a specific version, use Install APK under the phone screen. Choose a single .apk file (up to 150 MB) from your computer. It uploads and installs on the phone. Only install files you trust.
The phone stops and cannot be opened until you extend it. On virtual phones, apps and data are kept for 7 days after the end, and then erased for good. Press Extend on the phone card before that and you get the same phone back, exactly as it was. We email you when the phone stops and one day before it is erased. Back up anything you need, and extend in time: there is no auto-renewal.
Good to know
- Physical phones install apps from Google Play only. Uploading an APK is available on virtual phones.
- Apps and logins stay on the phone while the rental is active and for 7 days after it ends (virtual phones). Extend to keep the same phone.
- The phone keeps its country and city, so apps see the place you chose when you ordered.
- Split bundles (.apks, .xapk) are not supported. Upload a regular .apk.
